Adventures at Discovery Museum

So since I posted these pics I've been on the run ever since. Marshall has been living in SLC for the last 2 months and it has been crazy here. So while Katie and Morgan were here we went to The Discovery Museum at the Gateway. This place is so much fun! We got there at 10 so Marshall could go with us for a couple hours then Katie and Morgan met up with us. We played with everything, we even took an art class where we all painted something. It was $8.50 a person regardless of age. But I think it was money well spent considering me and the girls didn't leave until 4 pm. Oh and Katie got in with a discount since she is in the military. If you show your military ID you get buy one get one free.

Ellie was in Farmland loading the bales of hay into the truck bed.

Makayla and Morgan playing in the beehive. You could put these balls in different areas of the beehive and it would go through these tubes and come out in a different place.

Ellie loved the little house. It had everything, kitchen, living room, sitting room etc. she put on this little house coat and starting cleaning, ironing, cooking.

The art class. The little red headed boy on the left went to Kayla's school. He followed her everywhere and they were both so excited to see eachother. Such a coincidence since we live in Spanish Fork and were in SLC. I thought it was funny and so did the kids.

Ellie playing the cashier in the grocery store. The store had checkouts, aisles of food, a deli, produce section etc.

The water area. this was pretty neat. it had different stations that the balls would travel through and would do different things so the ball could get to the next station.

Holy cow this was so funny. Ellie went and put on the hat and fireman coat and got in the cop car and rode around the play area. her little legs were going so fast it was hysterical. I got a video somewhere, I'll have to post it.

Construction area. The whole museum is set up to play by yourself or together. It is alot more fun to do it together. Kayla is the crane operator while her friend was unloading and stacking the big blocks behind him.

Another section of the beehive.

Otto and Brenna's Wedding

Marshall's little brother got married on Wednesday and Tuesday was the rehearsal dinner at Rodizio Grill....So yummy!!! It was funny cause once we had our green indicator on the guys were coming out like crazy with all different kinds of meat! It was so good. My favorite was the tri tip sirloin. I wish I could make meat that good at home! We had a great time meeting Brenna's family, they seem like amazing people. We had a good time.

Sister in laws eating lots and lots of meat

All of us at dinner

Wedding day!!! Look at the happy couple!

Our Neice Morgan..posing for the cameras

Marshall putting on his tux.

I wish there wasn't a glare on his glasses so you could see how blue his eyes are!

Our studly men! Doesn't my husband look handsome in a tux? I think so! I've never seen Fred so happy! Well there have been a few occasions but this day he was beaming. I'm sure he was very proud of Otto and the decision he made to get married and in the temple. It was a great experience to go through Otto's endowment session and also to be present at his sealing. I think we were all happy for him.

We were so hot that day. I swear it was in the 100's! Okay so I exaggerate. On the way home it was just me and the girls and so we stopped at Bridal Veil Falls. We were hot and sweaty so I let the girls walk in the water. They started out here on the edge of the little pool from the falls....

Then they ventured out a little further...the water was freezing but they were having a blast.

Then over to this log...this picture is zoomed in so they were quite a ways off.

And they started up the waterfall...by this time I got into the water and followed them. They were having so much fun exploring I didn't want to bother them, but I wasn't to far away cause water makes me so nervous. And the water was still cold and their little legs were getting red.

dresses are soaked and legs are red from the cold water but they were satisfied and stopped to get a look at the river. They are so fun! I love to watch them explore.

Kayla's new glasses

Look how freakin cute this little lady is!! Her prescription changed and she was due for new frames with her insurance and she first wanted $200 Hannah Montana frames...hello!!! So our great doctor found these and the insurance paid...woohoo gotta love that! And they look so dang cute on her. I can't believe how happy she is with these. Her other glasses weren't to cute and she got teased (dumb kids) And hopefully this makes her feel good about herself! She is so beautiful if I do say so myself!

Kayla's Kindergarten Graduation

Here is part of Kayla's school program from her Kindergarten graduation. I did it in little clips so I could load it all onto our blog. and the lighting wasn't to good either, the videos turned out really dark. We had such a good time seeing everyone perform. They've been practicing for months on this and it showed. The teachers weren't in front showing them the next move or step, they did it all on their own. I was so impressed! They sang a song in the beginning that was the abc's in sign language and then each class (there were 3) performed, the one below is just kayla's class though, then they sang a friendship song with all the classes. It was so funny. Kayla knew that I was recording her and so she decided to really put on the dramatics. It was funny. Anyway, one milestone in her life accomplished now onto First Grade!

Home Sweet Home

We are home now..Ellie's procedure took about 20 minutes!! as I wrote the previous one it was about 10 minutes later...I was so surprised that it went so fast..She is doing fabulous, better than I expected! Ellie has a little pain but she is tolerating it..I thought she would since she has been use to a sore throat for so long. Now we are onto the recovery!! Woohoo...no more strep throat. She is talking a bit funny and is a little pale but she is loving the fact she can have icecream and all that good yummy cold stuff!

Quick update

Ellie went in for her surgery about 10 minutes ago. we had to be here at 6:30 am! She is so brave. We haven't kept anything from her and have told her about everything that was coming her way and I thought she might be nervous or whiny or cry but none of the above! I think I'm more nervous than she is! Good Grief! Marshall gave her a blessing and all will be good. We'll let you all know when she is done.

Ellie Belly is getting her tonsils out!

Ellie will be going into surgery tomorrow (Thursday) to have her tonsils removed. Ellie has had strep throat for 9 months!! Yes 9 months! We have gone into the doctor 7 times and she has been treated from each visit. She has been given several different antibiotics in hopes that one will work. The doctors feel that it just doesn't go away. This poor girl just deals with it...Her throat hurts constantly and her complaints about it are minimal..I know when it starts to get bad and we have to get her back in when she starts to talk funny. So this will be a good thing for her.
And I really wished I wouldn't have watched Oprah yesterday!!! I hardly do and I happen to stumble across this one about how you can contract a staph infection from having surgery...ugh.... Marshall will give her a blessing and I'm sure she will be fine but man I hate that crap, when I watch something and then I end up having to go through it..I'm such a worrier though!

So for the next two weeks I've had to take work off..She has to be home for that time due to the pain and bleeding. I can't send her to school like that and I can't work at home when she will be there in this state..So wish us luck that the financial part won't be to hard to get through! And pray for Ellie that her pain will be minimal! We will update her condition when the procedure is done...actually I'm jealous she gets all the pudding, icecream, popsicles she can handle!

What world did I just step into, okay this is April Fools right? Funny guys, okay you can come out now? Alright I'll shut my door again and open it...there won't be any snow! Seriously...what is going on here? I want to see tulips, Green Grass, birds chirping in the Cherry Blossom tree...a song should go along with my image, oh I know...I looked out the window and what did I see, popcorn popping on the Apricot Tree, Spring has brought me such a nice surprise....powder sugar right before my eyes...no no no not powder sugar! Popcorn, Popcorn is suppose to be popping right before my eyes!!! hahahaha, I think I'm entertaining myself more right now than any of you who are reading this, but I'm so SICK OF THE SNOW! I promise I'll do my spring cleaning if you bring me spring?

Birthday Party

Birthday Get together

On March 21st we had a birthday get together for Makayla and Ellie. Ellie didn't get a party and so we did a combo party. I'm so glad for all the people that came because it was fun and relaxing...no stress! Thanks to all who came and to those who brought food to! We hauled our grill to the park and had a BBQ. By the way, does anyone know how to put pictures together like a collage thing?

Happy 6th Birthday Makayla

Makayla Marie is 6 years old today!!!

Our little girl is all growed up!!! I can't believe that you are six years old. Whew!!
It seems like yesterday you were born?? I remember how sweet you were as a baby, you were so mellow, quiet, you hardly cried and when you did it was so soft, you slept through the night from the day you came home from the hospital. You were blessed with such a sweet spirit. Daddy and I knew from the moment we met you that you were special and were going to be so loving with everyone. You have a smile that is so contagious, you can't help but smile back! Throughout these years Daddy and I have watched you grow and blossome into a very lovely little lady. Not only are you funny and love to joke around but you also have a sense of your surroundings. You always know when someone needs a hug, a laugh or a Makaylaism. I swear you're turning 40 for how grown up you talk and act. Daddy and I have been so blessed to be given such a sweet little girl, you are an awesome daughter and the best big sister. We love you so much and can't wait to see what great and amazing things you will accomplish! Happy Birthday Little Lady!

MOTHER DAUGHTER NIGHT-BEACH PARTY

Makayla's school had this on Friday night. It was so much fun! I love doing stuff like this with my girls. The girl in the middle is our friend Molly, her mom couldn't come that night so she went with us. They taught us to Hula, played volleyball with beachballs, made flowers to go in our hair, had sherbet icecream with a chocolate dipped coconut cookie (yum), and had pictures done with a beach background. I almost forgot about it till an hour before and I was scrambling to find something beach or hawaiian, so I ran to the dollar store and bought some fake flowers and got some lei's. I tore the flowers apart and put a bobby pin through them and did each of the girls hair. You can't see Ellies, her pony tail is on the other side with the flower in it and she wouldn't wear her lei. And then I was frantically looking for something beachy and hawaiian to wear...I found two dresses that had palmtrees and such and some shorts that were hawaiian, and a grass skirt and tried to make the best of it..each girl has a piece of what I found...hahahaha not bad for really last minute!!! We had a blast!

Showing off their new flowers they made. Ellie wouldn't put hers on..it was to big she said..and you can't see it but she wrapped her lei around her ankle cause it was to big for her neck to! Kayla's lei ended up around her wrist and then they handed out plastic ones and that ended up around her ankle to..funny girls..already into fashion, what they think will look better!! haha
Here are the girls learning to Hula..I tried really hard to not giggle while I was taping this, Ellie is so serious about learning and Kayla is just doing it..They are so different..
