Our friend and second Dad, Passed away on July 21, 2008. Mark had been battling with cancer this last year. My sister and I became so close to this family when they moved into the ward when I was 12 years old. Marinda had become a very close friend to me. She was my young womens leader then I became her asst coach and camp leader and our friendship grew from there. Mark became my second dad. Because my dad was never a part of my life, I just clung to Mark. I watched and listened to his advice and example in how he raised his daughters. He would get us girls laughing so dang hard that we couldn't breath and our stomachs would just hurt. There were times when he would bare his testimony with my sister, mom and I and we would cry because he was so full of the spirit and you coulnd't help but feel the spirit and the light of Christ when you were around him. Mark and Marinda are the most giving and friendly people I know. They would give you the shirt off their back. I remember Mark saying about a family that had lost there house, "why didn't they ask me to help them". He seemed offended that he couldn't help someone!! I am so appreciative and privileged to know such an amazing and remarkable man! I know that at this time, the Hilton family are grieving and my heart just aches that the presence of this man will not be physically there. I know that his memory will and hopefully that will comfort them. I love you guys with all my heart and I'm sorry you have to go through this again. And Thank you Mark for being such an awesome and powerful examply in my life, you will be missed greatly by so many!

Makayla's a Genius
So Makayla got a new bike for her birthday because she has out grown her old one. She will not ride it at all. She says it keeps falling over on her. The bike has training wheels but they suck! They keep collapsing. So this day she decided to get on her old bike and was just using her feet to push her around on it. Then she started to get going on it like fred flinstone and build up a momentum and then start pedaling. It was so funny to watch her. I watched from the window and was giggling cause I was so excited that she had accomplished this. Last summer we tried to teach her to do it but she just wasn't ready. But the fact that she had done it by herself is such and amazing accomplishment for her. So I came outside and started recording her without Kayla knowing it. Afterwards I told her how proud I was that she did this and that she is so smart to figure out how to ride this bike. She was beaming! I just love moments like this!
These videos are so dang cute! The bottom one is Kayla singing her quarter song. And then the next one is Marshall galloping with the rest of the kids. I was giggling so bad at this. Anyway, her last day of school was fun. Marshall spent the morning with her and the made cupcakes, made picture frames, necklaces and then cleaned up there cubbies. I got there with Ellie for the program and they sang a couple of songs and then played games, did a pinata and then we ate lunch. She was sad to say bye to her friends but it she is so excited about Kindergarten. Oh they showed a slide show of the class throughout the year and of course since I've become this little ball baby I cried through the whole thing. I can't believe how fast Makayla has grown and how much she has learned. On to the next phase in life!
